sure! i'd do anything for a friend! 
nope...its MY money..they can work out their own problems

Done this before... its a bad idea. If you are going to "lend" someone money... don't expect to see that money ever again. The person you lend to, when they have money to repay you will inevitably spend it on junk they don't need, get in debt again and return to beg for even more money. It gets hard to cut them off. Offer the person a job if you can where they earn the money you'd lend them or help them find work... but unless it is a family member... sympathize but leave the person to find the money elsewhere.
